Survival Game News - Reddit
Survival or management game with long progression & skill point system Been really having fun with survival-esk games, but not sure what to look for now. 7 days to die - liked the skill-point system and progression. Son's of the forest - liked the resource management Rust - fun at the time (2012 or w/e) but I'm not too into multiplayer now

Any mods do you recommend for a survival playthrough?
Just to add, I'm pretty certain that Tectonic and Terralith and compatible. So you can get the smooth slopes and extremely large mountain rangers from tectonic with a lot of Terralith's world generation features which is awesome. It does have some more worldgen weirdness where some blocks/terrain features will clearly be floating and somewhat unnatural, but it generally looks great!

Recommendations for open world survival craft games
Great survival mechanics, combat isn’t amazing but everything else makes up for it. Plenty of customization with game settings and can be pretty chill (when your base isn’t being attacked).

We all know Stranded Deep, the survival sim where your plane crashes somewhere in the Pacific Ocean and you end up drifting in a safety raft until you come across an archipelago of tiny deserted islands. Look for ‘Ray Mears survival’ on YT. Mostly sensible stuff, well presented. Bear in mind though that a lot of survivalism is based around adventure fantasy scenarios, fine for training, whereas the greatest effort/reward benefit in real life comes from planning to avoid those scenarios by not getting lost and not taking unnecessary risks when unable to effect immediate evacuation to safety.

What is the best survival game in your opinion? - Reddit
Even excluding the multiplayer survival aspects surviving the elements and injuries and zombies was still so new and fun and entertaining in a 3d environment. Heck you can play Dayz Standalone on a private server solo now and its still a lot of fun just as a survival game. It's finally gotten better over time.
